The inaugural flight of a Flight Youth Engineering aircraft build project took place today and the team could not be prouder.

The flight commenced from Redcliffe Aerodrome in south east Queensland and lasted for around 1 hour in total with no issues reported. The test pilot David Brown said, “the aircraft performed flawlessly and flew exactly as expected, the students have done an amazing job!”

Two of the students involved in the build, Daniel Strydom and Jonathan Kelly, were present for the first flight and their pride was hard to hide.

Daniel has been involved in the build since its inception and is now a first year apprentice with Bell Helicopters. He credits Flight Youth Engineering with helping him secure his new career.

This aircraft will soon be making the journey to Avalon Airshow to be displayed in the general aviation precinct. The team from Flight Youth Engineering will be there to answer all of your questions and you will have the opportunity to talk to the students involved.
